The 500x optics of this model have been selected for capillaroscopy applications that require greater detail of individual nail capillaries than can be obtained with the 200 Pro models. When using the contoured nail cap as intended the 500x optics provide the user with a field of view of approximately 0.85mm in the x direction. For more general applications that do not require this greater level of detail the MEDLW4N Pro Wireless is available and offers approximately 1.8mm field of view.

The removable N3C-N caps that clip to the end of the CapillaryScope are contoured to the finger and make hand held operation extremely straightforward. These along with the adjustable polarisation make contact operation (usually with immersion oil) a quick and simply process producing high quality images of the nail capillary formations.
