The 20x-220x optics of this model have been selected with capillaroscopy applications in mind and when using the contoured nail cap as intended provide the user with a field of view of approximately 1.8mm in the x direction. For applications that require greater detail of individual nail capillaries the MEDLW4N5 Pro Wireless is also available (approximately 0.85mm field of view).

The removable N3C-N caps that clip to the end of the CapillaryScope are contoured to the finger and make hand held operation extremely straightforward. These along with the adjustable polarisation make contact operation (usually with immersion oil) a quick and simply process producing high quality images of the nail capillary formations.
